Craig G reminisces on Hip Hop in the 1980s | Interview

Craig G reminisces about the mid-80s when he was 12 years old, recording with Marley Marl. He distinctly remembers how people were excited simply to have made records, regardless of any success. In 1989, he was signed to Atlantic Records and saw the political motives in the music industry at an early stage. Craig left the label and took a 5-year hiatus until the independent Hip Hop scene emerged in the 90s with the success of 12″ singles and boutique record companies. His latest album in 2016 is called I Rap And Go Home, produced by Big Earth of VaporWorldz. Purchase I Rap And Go Home, with features from Kool Keith, Buckshot, Ras Kass, Rockness, Jarobi (A Tribe Called Quest), and Canibus.
